阿川在日本料理店擔任廚師，某晚工作時突然昏倒，緊急送醫卻查不出病因，同事將他送回山上老家靜養。見到父親和姐姐，阿川卻一臉感到陌生，渾身散發詭譎的氣息。某天父親回家竟發現女兒倒在血泊之中，兒子阿川卻坐在一旁面無表情，父親問：「你是誰？你不是我兒子。」阿川冷冷回答：「我看這身體空著，就住進來了。」

兒子的異常失魂，讓殺人疑雲雪上加霜，父親費盡千心為家族洗刷嫌疑，收拾殘局，但藏得了屍體，卻蓋不住如雪球般越滾越大的謎團和重重危機。究竟阿川是失心瘋，還是真被邪靈附身？導演鍾孟宏混合懸疑、靈異、家庭衝突等各類型元素，並化名為攝影師中島長雄，親手打造氤氳山林中的詭麗攝影風格，在台灣電影系譜中另闢蹊徑，揮灑出自成一格的獨特神采。曾經叱吒港台武俠電影的「獨臂刀王」王羽今年4月5日辭世，他在本片於70歲高齡演出阿川父親，以低調內斂的演技榮獲台北電影獎最佳男主角獎肯定。

A-Chuan is a quiet thirty-year-old who works as a chef in a Japanese restaurant in Taiwan. One day, without apparent reason, he falls into a coma, and wakes up in a strange mental state. As if under a spell, he doesn't respond to any external stimulus, and doesn't speak or eat. He is taken back to the mountains, the place where his father lives and grows orchids. His father and sister are puzzled—until violence explodes within and around A-Chuan, setting off a series of unexpected events. A fascinating and chilling psychological thriller of demonic possession and the mysterious happenings surrounding it, the film probes a father-son relationship shattered by a foreign presence and unspoken family secrets.
