       《充滿希望的怪物》Hopeful Monsters是一部以演化理論為靈感的物件視覺劇場作品。該演出以充滿趣味的方式呈現「所有生命都由相同的基本構件組成。」的概念。透過創新的手部偶戲，創造出會以意外方式變形與移動的奇異生物，從單一元素展現其所能形成與成為的一切。作品沒有核心角色，敘事在水、陸、空之間流動，帶領觀眾踏上一段陌生而迷人的自然旅程。

     這是一部完全以雙手講述的演化故事。雙手以意想不到的方式移動與變形，成為隨著旅程在水、土與空氣間變幻的奇異生物。所有生命都由相同的基本構件組成—從簡單的有機體到龐大的巨獸。這是一則關於生存與掙扎、連結與轉變的故事，也提醒我們生命本身的遊戲性。畢竟，我們人類也是動物。

"Hopeful Monsters" is a highly visual piece of tabletop theatre inspired by evolutionary theory. The show is a playful illustration of the notion that all living things are made up of the same fundamental building blocks. Using innovative hand puppetry to create unexpected creatures that move and morph in unusual ways, it takes a single element and reveals how much it can do and become. With no central character, the narrative flows between water, land and air on a strange and mesmerising journey through nature.

This is the story of evolution told entirely with hands. They move and morph in unusual ways, becoming unexpected creatures that shapeshift as we journey through water, earth and air. All living things are made up of the same fundamental building blocks, from simple organisms to giant beasts. It’s a tale of survival and struggle, of connection and transformation, and a reminder of the playfulness of living. After all, we humans are animals too.

Hopeful Monster Theatre 由三位女性組成，以共演方式創作充滿玩味、受自然世界啟發並以科學為基礎的視覺劇場。「Hopeful monster（希望怪物）」是一項演化假說，主張一次劇烈的基因突變可能產生截然不同的生物，甚至開啟一個新物種。與其名字的理念相呼應，劇團創作出奇特又迷人的作品，運用偶戲的各種可能性，在意想不到的視覺形態中尋找樂趣。劇團由博理·梅佐（Bori Mezo）、艾拉·麥凱（Ella Mackay） 與 埃蒂·米考克（Eti Meacock） 於 2018 年創立，成員分別常駐於倫敦、格拉斯哥與北德文郡，在英國各地活動。

Hopeful Monster Theatre is an ensemble of three women working collaboratively to create playful visual theatre inspired by the natural world and informed by science. A 'hopeful monster' is an evolutionary hypothetis proposing that a dramatic genetic mutation could lead to a radically different organism and start a new species. Like its namesake, the company devises work that is weird and wonderful, playing with the possibilities of puppetry and delighting in the unusual visual creations that emerge.  Founded by Bori Mezo, Ella Mackay and Eti Meacock in 2018, the company is based across the UK, - in London, Glasgow and North Devon.
