音樂是一種特別的語言,能說出某個地方的故事、生活和心情。

而在印尼巴里島就有一種非常具代表性的音樂——「甘美朗」(Gamelan)。

你知道為什麼甘美朗的樂器都是一對一對？

甘美朗沒有指揮，但是演奏的人卻能夠很有默契，奏出像閃電般快速的旋律，

他們是怎麼做到的？皮影戲和舞蹈演出時，他們的動作是如何跟甘美朗緊緊地扣在一起？

巴里島的小朋友是怎麼學習甘美朗的？

巴里島甘美朗如何傳到世界各地，包括臺灣？

這次由臺灣大學音樂學研究所王櫻芬老師規劃的展覽和工作坊，

透過實物展示、文字影片、動手實作，展現甘美朗的獨特魅力，

更請來巴里島作曲大師，用口傳心授的方式，帶著小朋友玩甘美朗，同時培養團隊精神，認識印尼文化！

建議參與年齡：本活動僅限 6–12歲學員報名參加。若購票成功後經確認不符合參與年齡資格，主辦單位將另行通知辦理退票。

取票方式：本活動僅提供電子票取票。

課程注意事項：

1.為了讓孩子有更完整、安全的體驗，將於活動前寄送「學員資料填寫表」與活動說明（含家長同意書及影像拍攝之肖像權同意書）。請家長於購票時務必留下正確聯絡資訊，並留意信箱通知，一起完成報到前的小準備！

2.為維護教學品質與課堂秩序，恕不接受延期上課，亦不開放旁聽、試聽或家長陪同。學員上課期間須配戴學員證，並準時進出場館。

3.學員如有特殊生理或健康狀況，請於報名時主動告知；活動期間請留意身體狀況，如有發燒或不適應在家休養。若於課程中出現不適或發燒情形，將先行隔離並通知家長接回就醫；如經本中心評估不適合繼續參與，亦將通知家長接回。

4.遇緊急事故時，將優先送醫至鄰近之合格醫療機構，以爭取最佳醫療時效。

5.如遇不可抗力因素（如政府政策調整、天災等），主辦單位得依相關規範彈性調整或暫停課程；若政府宣布停止上班上課，課程將同步停課，相關後續處理將公告於官網，並請學員主動留意最新資訊。

6.本中心保留課程師資、內容與時段調整之權利，並保有本簡章之最終解釋權。如有未盡事宜，悉依主辦單位相關規定辦理。凡有任何異動，將統一公告於官網並另行通知。

【授課講師簡介】

臺大永恆之歌甘美朗樂團

目前臺灣有五個大學擁有巴里島甘美朗樂器，其中以臺北藝術大學最早，自1980年代便引進。臺大永恆之歌甘美朗樂團（NTU Gamelan Gita Lestari）由臺灣大學音樂研究所特聘教授王櫻芬於2018年創立，成員由臺大及臺師大師生及畢業校友組成，涵蓋不同國籍（臺、港、日、韓、印尼、馬來西亞）及學科背景（音樂／音樂學、人類學、生命科學、森林環境及資源）。

臺大永恆之歌甘美朗樂團擁有全臺唯一一套克比亞甘美朗，還有在臺較為普遍可見的安克隆安甘美朗。本團自創立之初便有幸獲得國際著名巴里島作曲家I Nyoman Windha及其舞蹈家夫人I Gusti Agung Ayu Warsiki的指導，持續至今。本團團名「永恆之歌」（Gita Lestari）由Windha老師命名，期許甘美朗在臺灣能持續流傳。

王櫻芬

國立臺灣大學音樂學研究所創所所長暨特聘教授，美國匹茲堡大學民族音樂學博士，專長為南管、日治時期臺灣音樂史和聲音媒體、歷史錄音研究，曾獲科技部傑出研究獎，著作亦數次獲得國際獎項，活躍於國際音樂學界。1982–1984年隨Dr. Mantle Hood學習中爪哇和巴里島甘美朗，並隨其夫人Hazel Chung學習巴里島舞蹈。2018年開始在臺大開授巴里島甘美朗課程，成立臺大永恆之歌甘美朗樂團，師從國際著名巴里島作曲大師溫達（I Nyoman Windha）。

國際著名巴里島作曲大師，是1980和90年代推動巴里島甘美朗創新的代表性作曲家，許多作品已成為所有巴里島甘美朗樂團必學之經典曲目，以旋律甜美見長，故有「巴里島莫扎特」美譽。1985年至2020年任教巴里島藝術學院（ISI Denpasar），多次赴歐美教學和擔任駐團作曲家，演出足跡遍佈全球。自2018年起持續指導臺大永恆之歌甘美朗樂團，也擔任臺大音樂學研究所兼任教授。

★ A world music lesson for children

★ Walk into the world of Indonesian culture and sounds through percussion

Music is a very special language; it can tell the stories, lives, and moods of a place. On the Indonesian island Bali exists a music known as “Gamelan” that is representative of Indonesian culture.

Do you know why the gamelan musical instruments are always in pairs? There is no conductor, but the players play the music with such a fast rhythm in great harmony. How can they manage to do that? In a shadow puppet show or a dance, how can their movements be so closely connected to gamelan? How do the children in Bali learn gamelan? How did the Balinese gamelan music spread all over the world, including Taiwan?

Centering around percussion, gamelan is an element indispensable in the religious ceremonies and festivals in Bali. It is truly fun to play gamelan music; it feels like playing a video game since you must be quick and precise. Moreover, you need to build a great rapport with your partners, so you can play the music at a lightning speed. This time, at the workshop, we can learn to play gamelan music from a great Balinese composer and through the exhibition, we get to understand the relationships between the gamelan musical instruments, feeling the close connection between gamelan, dance, and theatre.

Do you know any Indonesian children or adults? Indonesia is a country composed of more than 17,000 islands, where more than 700 languages are spoken; its climate is more humid than that of Taiwan, and it is a place where beliefs are important to its people. We have many Indonesians living in Taiwan, and music is the best thing to start with when we try to learn about a place. While listening to gamelan, we feel like embarking on a journey of music; without the need to get on a plane or to leave home, we can feel its unique cultural charm.

Organized by Wang Ying-Fen from the Graduate Institute of Musicology at National Taiwan University, the exhibition and the workshop demonstrate the unique charm of gamelan through object display, captions, videos, and hands-on activities. Moreover, a great Balinese composer is invited to teach children to play gamelan music while they build team spirit and learn about Indonesian culture.

NTU Gamelan Gita Lestari

Currently, five universities in Taiwan own Balinese gamelan instruments, with the earliest introduction dating back to the 1980s at the Taipei National University of the Arts. NTU Gamelan Gita Lestari was founded in 2018 by Professor Ying-fen Wang, Distinguished Professor at the Graduate Institute of Musicology, National Taiwan University. The ensemble consists of students, faculty members, and alumni from National Taiwan University and National Taiwan Normal University, bringing together members from diverse nationalities (Taiwanese, Hong Kong, Japanese, Korean, Indonesian, and Malaysian) and academic backgrounds, including music/musicology, anthropology, life sciences, and forestry and environmental resources.

NTU Gamelan Gita Lestari is the only ensemble in Taiwan to own a complete Kebyar gamelan set, in addition to the more commonly seen Angklung gamelan. Since its establishment, the ensemble has had the privilege of receiving ongoing guidance from internationally renowned Balinese composer I Nyoman Windha and his wife, dancer I Gusti Agung Ayu Warsiki. The ensemble’s name, “Gita Lestari” (“Eternal Song”), was bestowed by Maestro Windha with the hope that gamelan music will continue to flourish in Taiwan.

 Ying-fen Wang

Founding Director and Distinguished Professor of the Graduate Institute of Musicology at National Taiwan University, Ying-fen Wang received her Ph.D. in Ethnomusicology from the University of Pittsburgh. Her research specialties include Nanguan music, Taiwanese music history and sound media during the Japanese colonial period, and historical recordings. She has received the Ministry of Science and Technology Distinguished Research Award, and her publications have won several international honors. Actively engaged in the global musicological community, she studied Central Javanese and Balinese gamelan with Dr. Mantle Hood from 1982 to 1984, and Balinese dance with Hazel Chung. Since 2018, she has offered Balinese gamelan courses at NTU and founded NTU Gamelan Gita Lestari, studying under internationally acclaimed Balinese composer I Nyoman Windha.

Internationally acclaimed Balinese composer I Nyoman Windha is regarded as one of the leading figures who advanced innovations in Balinese gamelan music during the 1980s and 1990s. Many of his compositions have become essential repertoire for gamelan ensembles across Bali. Known for his lyrical and melodic style, he is often referred to as the “Mozart of Bali.” From 1985 to 2020, he taught at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Denpasar (ISI Denpasar), and has frequently traveled throughout Europe and North America as a guest instructor and composer-in-residence. Since 2018, he has continuously guided NTU Gamelan Gita Lestari and also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Graduate Institute of Musicology, National Taiwan University.
