Wētā大師講堂：虛擬製作專題

虛擬製作正在重新定義影像創作的想像與實踐。從前期視覺開發、數位場景建構，到拍攝現場與後期特效整合，技術不只改變製作流程，也為創作者開啟嶄新的敘事可能。

本場「Wētā 大師講堂：虛擬製作專題」邀請奧斯卡最佳視覺效果獎提名、艾美獎及奧斯卡技術成就獎得主 Martin Hill，從 Wētā FX 的國際製作視野出發，分享大型影視製作中創意、技術與跨部門協作的實務觀察。  Martin 曾參與《阿凡達》、《普羅米修斯》、《玩命關頭7》、《冰與火之歌：權力遊戲》及《怪奇物語》等國際影視製作，兼具藝術與技術背景。本次講座將透過其豐富的實務經驗，帶領觀眾理解虛擬製作在當代影像工作流程中的角色，以及真實與數位世界交融之下，影像創作的未來可能。

主講 | Martin Hill (Senior Visual Effects Supervisor)

Martin Hill 為 Wētā FX 視覺特效總監，曾參與並監製超過十部電影，榮獲艾美獎及奧斯卡技術成就獎，並以《普羅米修斯》入圍奧斯卡最佳視覺效果獎。兼具藝術與技術背景的他，專注於以視覺特效服務故事，創作範疇涵蓋預覽動畫、生物、數位場景、特效、動態圖像及數位角色。代表作品包括《阿凡達》、《玩命關頭7》、《星際特工瓦雷諾：千星之城》及《冰與火之歌：權力遊戲》第八季，近期更帶領 Wētā FX 團隊參與《怪奇物語》最終季製作。

Wētā Production Masterclass: Virtual Production

Virtual production is redefining how stories are imagined and brought to life. From visual development and digital environment creation to on-set production and post-production integration, these technologies are transforming workflows while opening up new possibilities for visual storytelling.

“Wētā Production Masterclass: Virtual Production” welcomes Academy Award®-nominated, Emmy-winning, and Academy® Technical Achievement Award-winning Visual Effects Supervisor Martin Hill. Drawing on Wētā FX’s global production perspective, he will share practical insights into creativity, technology, and cross-disciplinary collaboration in large-scale film and television production.

With an artistic and technical background, Martin has contributed to major international productions including Avatar, Prometheus, Furious 7, Game of Thrones, and Stranger Things. Through his extensive industry experience, the session will offer insight into the evolving role of virtual production in contemporary filmmaking and the creative possibilities emerging as the physical and digital worlds continue to converge.

Speaker | Martin Hill (Senior Visual Effects Supervisor)

An Academy Award®-nominated, Emmy-winning and Academy® Technical Achievement Award-winning Visual Effects Supervisor, Martin Hill has supervised over a dozen films. Drawing on his artistic and technical background, he focuses on story and creates compelling previs, creatures, environments, FX, motion graphics and digital characters. Martin recently led Wētā FX’s work on the final season of the Duffer brothers’ Stranger Things.

Martin supervised Wētā FX work across all episodes of Season 8 of Game of Thrones (2019). He oversaw more than 1300 mostly fully digital shots on Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017) and his work on Prometheus (2012) was recognised with an Academy Award® nomination for Best Visual Effects. On Furious 7 (2015), he pushed the boundaries of photoreal digital humans with over 300 shots of digital Paul Walker. As Shaders Supervisor and Head of Department, Martin oversaw look development on Avatar (2009) where he also developed the global illumination lighting / spherical harmonics system for which in 2014, he received an Academy® Technical Achievement Award.
